Farmers' markets are a great way to spend a morning or an afternoon. At markets in Perthshire you can purchase fresh local produce including meat, seafood, fruit and vegetables direct from the producers who can share their culinary expertise.

On the first Saturday of each month, you can sample some of the region's amazing locally sourced food and drink at Perth Farmers' Market which boasts an abundance of fresh ingredients and quality products. This was the first market to be set up in Scotland and since the 1990s farmers' markets have grown in popularity and are now regularly features in towns and villages across the country.

The Strathmore & the Glens Community Market is held monthly in Blairgowrie and here you can pick up a wide variety of delicious local produce, as well as local arts and crafts.

During the summer months, the pleasant town of Crieff hosts the Crieff & Strathearn Monthly Market, with many traditional stalls offering everything from local jams and pickles to organic meats.
