When you consider that Ayrshire & Arran boasts 80 miles of unspoilt coastline and acres of wonderful farmland, it is hardly surprising that this region offers an excellent source of fresh seasonal ingredients. Whether at a restaurant, café, bar or farmers’ market, you can experience this great range of food and drink and experience the true taste of the region.

From the sea

Enjoy the fruits of the seas surrounding Ayrshire & Arran, an area famed for the quality of its seafood. Tuck into freshly caught langoustines, crabs, lobsters, hand-dived scallops, oysters and a range of white fish.

From the land

It’s also a region known for succulent meats, so pick up some Ayrshire bacon, or enjoy beef and lamb. What’s more, Ayrshire & Arran is also Burns country, so the traditional dish of haggis is a regular feature on menus throughout the region at any time of year, accompanied by delicious Ayrshire potatoes.

Dairy produce

Cook school

With courses for all tastes and abilities, this 5-star attraction regularly welcomes guest chefs who are more than happy to share their tips.

Beer and whisky

Exploring the region can be thirsty work, so why not visit the brewery or distillery on the Isle of Arran and take a tour (completing with tasting sessions at the end) to find out how these excellent drinks are put together.
