Perthshire boasts an abundance of farm shops that stock a variety of delicious organic produce. Try the prizewinning carrots of Lochend Farm Shop situated just outside of Scotlandwell in Kinross-shire and enjoy homemade soup and bread straight from the oven at the coffee shop of Gloagburn Farm.

Pick up fresh organic produce at Jamesfield Organics and Loch Leven’s Larder. In the summer months you’ll find signs around the Blairgowrie area pointing you in the direction of farms where you can ‘pick your own’ strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries and redcurrants.  You might even have the chance to get your hands on the intensely sweet hybrid of the raspberry and blackberry, the Tayberry, which is unique to the region.

The area is renowned for the mouth-watering taste of its lamb, Highland beef, wild boar, venison and game which you can sample from local butchers and restaurants.

No visit to Perthshire would be complete without trying the delicately flavoured wild salmon and brown trout hand-caught from the area’s rivers. There's also a fantastic selection of locally produced drinks to choose from. Look out for the distinctive malt whiskies from Perthshire's five distilleries, or enjoy a pint of Perthshire beer from the Inveralmond and Moulin breweries.

Discover the sweet side of Perthshire, with a taste of some of the region's finest chocolates. Enjoy delectable artisan chocolates at the Scottish Chocolate Centre, prepared by Iain Burnett, the award-winning Highland Chocolatier in Grandtully, including his famous spiced pralines and velvet truffles.
