Scotland boasts an excellent range of high quality produce and has world-class restaurants. With so many options, how do you know which to choose? One way to ensure that you’ll enjoy Scottish food and drink of exceptional quality is to look for places that are part of Taste Our Best, a new quality assurance scheme.

What does Taste Our Best mean?

The accreditation ensures that you will eat quality ingredients of Scottish provenance and the freshest seasonal produce. Taste Our Best establishments strive for sustainability, sourcing food locally to ensure they keep food miles to a minimum. You’ll know where your food has come from, in fact at least 40% of the Scottish produce will be highlighted on your menu. If you want to know more about what you're eating then just ask the staff, who will be well informed about the origins of the meal on your plate.

Taste Our Best, which replaces the existing scheme, eatscotland, also help to raise the profile of Scottish food as an important part of tourism, giving credit to those who are achieving high standards and encouraging others to aspire to them.

Where to find Taste Our Best establishments

Delightful bistros, cosy pubs, aromatic coffee houses, fascinating visitor attractions, convenient carry outs, and homely guest houses and B&Bs are also dedicated to providing fresh and locally sourced produce, and they want you to know about it.
