Eateries in Scotland

Scotland boasts a fantastic range of high quality produce and has world-class restaurants offering amazing cuisine. Across the country, you’ll find delicious meals served in bars and inns, stylish cafes and charming tearooms, lip-smacking fish and chip shops and takeaways, as well as farm shops and delis stocking fresh, tasty delights and sweet and savoury preserves.

With so many options around, how do you know where to choose when your stomach starts to rumble? One way to ensure that you’ll enjoy food and drink of exceptional quality is to look for places that are part of Taste Our Best.

What does Taste Our Best mean?

It means you will enjoy quality ingredients of Scottish provenance and the freshest seasonal produce. Often outlets will strive for sustainability, sourcing food locally to ensure they keep food miles to a minimum. Some establishments will even provide details of the suppliers used on menus and you can expect that those preparing the food to have excellent culinary skills. On the whole, you can find excellent standards and delicious flavours from the participants of Taste Our Best and get a real taste of Scotland.

Taste Our Best, which replaces the existing scheme, EatScotland, will also help to raise the profile of Scottish food as an important part of tourism, giving credit to those who are achieving high standards and encouraging others to aspire to them.
