A number of Scottish clans have their origins in the Outer Hebrides and while a clan connection is a good starting point, how much more interesting would it be to find the actual history of your family?

To that end, Co Leis Thu? is the Genealogy Research Centre for the Outer Hebrides, a tremendous genealogical resource based on many years of dedicated research.

Almost every household in the Outer Hebrides in the past 200 years has been researched, and a resource bank of over 30,000 family tree sheets has been compiled, together with details of many families who emigrated to America, Canada, Australia and elsewhere.

Thanks to Co Leis Thu? it is usually possible to chart families back to the 18th century and frequently much farther still.
