Aberdeen City and Shire is blessed with an array of stunning beaches. Feel the sand between your toes as you walk across pristine stretches of sand and shingle, look for local wildlife, enjoy thrilling water sports or simply fly a kite.

Aberdeenshire boasts an extensive and varied coastline with plenty of beautiful, often deserted beaches to explore. Many of these can be found along the region’s Coastal Trail and throughout its many charming towns and villages.

The expansive beach at Balmedie is the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon building sand castles or kicking a ball around with the children. If you feel like something more energetic, why not experience the exhilaration cantering across the beach on horseback or hit the waves with a surf board?

Take in the sweeping pink sands and dunes of Cruden Bay and pay a visit to the amazing natural phenomenon of the Bullers of Buchan, a collapsed sea save that has resulted in a near circular 30 m deep chasm.

Visit Rattray Head with its much photographed lighthouse and marvel at immense, ever-changing sand dunes sculpted into extraordinary shapes by the wind, some reaching up to 75 ft in height.

These are just a handful of the beautiful beaches that can be enjoyed in Aberdeen City and Shire. Take a look through the listings and discover more.
