Dumfries & Galloway boasts a broad range of attractions that provide fantastic opportunities to experience the region's wildlife at first hand amidst glorious scenery.

Visitors can explore numerous RSPB reserves, National Nature Reserves, Sites of Special Scientific Interest and other nature centres across the region. Here you can discover a huge range of wildlife nestling amongst habitats as varied as peat bogs and ancient woodlands to coastal estuaries and inland wetlands.

There's also the extensive woodland trails through the Galloway Forest Park and Dalbeattie Forest where you're all but guaranteed to see red deer, wild goats, red squirrels and pine martens.

The Galloway Red Kite Trail is another popular destination, as is the Galloway Wildlife Conservation Park while kids just love the farm and nature trails and activities at the Cream o' Galloway.
