The golden shores, gently rolling hills and abundant grasslands of the Kingdom of Fife offer unparalleled opportunities to get outdoors and experience some of Scotland’s most vibrant wildlife. There are other ways to get up close to wildlife in the region, particularly more unusual or rare species, by visiting one of many wildlife attractions across Fife.

To see just some of these unusual or endangered species, head to the Scottish Deer Centre in Cupar, which is not only home to 14 species of deer from around the world but also conserves rare or near-extinct Scottish animals like wolves, the wildcat, red squirrels and birds of prey.

Meet just some of the region's native marine wildlife at Fife's two aquaria. Deep Sea World in North Queensferry offers visitors many interactive activities, including watching the sharks being fed by divers as well as opportunities to hold creatures from the rock pools. You could be introduced to more than just marine animals at St Andrews Aquarium where you can help feed their growing family of meerkats up close and personal and meet the resident Humboldt penguins.
