Get closer to wildlife than you ever imagined on a boat charter or wildlife cruise in Scotland. With thousands of miles of coastline, including rugged sheer cliffs and pristine beaches, as well as over 700 islands, Scotland is one of the best places in the UK to get up close and personal with aquatic wildlife.

The experience of spotting wildlife offshore in Scotland is second to none.  You'll be addicted to the rush of seeing your first pod of dolphins breaking the surface of the water just yards from the side of the boat. In certain parts of Scotland, particularly the northern isles of Orkney and Shetland, sightings of a variety of whales are becoming more and more frequent, their epic tail fins rising up and slipping beneath the waves. Minke and orca are the most commonly sighted, but sperm, blue and pilot whales have also made an appearance in Scottish waters. Expect to spy seals or porpoises too.

As well as skimming the waters out to sea, boat tours often draw up close to cliff faces and bob in the swell below enormous seabird colonies. These cities are a hive of activity, with thousands of birds, including puffins, fulmars, gannets and more, nesting in the crags or swooping and diving to feed in the waters below.
