Discover the science behind our natural environment at Scotland’s science centres. To celebrate the Year of Natural Scotland, Scotland’s four science centres have come together to create a fantastic lineup of special events as well as a special schools’ programme. Visit Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh or Glasgow (or even all four!) for a fascinating look at a particular aspect of Scotland’s natural science and let the kids gets hand-on!
Aberdeen – Satrosphere:
Satrosphere presents Green Energy in the Granite City, a series of events throughout November to focus on the importance of scientific and environmental issues. This will include a discovery weekend where visitors can participate in a range of shows, hands-on workshops and discussion sessions on 16 and 17 November.

Dundee – Dundee Science Centre:
Taking a detailed look at Green Science in the City, Dundee Science Centre offers a hands-on, expert-led exploration of low-carbon and sustainable living themes on Saturday 21 September and Saturday 30 November.
Café Science Extra presents a special marine-themed evening event on Wednesday 13 November when visitors can hear about cutting-edge research and the impact of sonar on whales and join in discussions over coffee.

Edinburgh – Our Dynamic Earth:
Our Dynamic Earth celebrates the natural environment in an exciting exhibition of amateur photos, which will be on display until Christmas. Friday 18 October is devoted to an exploration of Natural Scotland for all the family.

Glasgow – Glasgow Science Centre:
Enjoy a special free science show on how we source, use and manage water resources plus a ‘seed survival’ workshop for younger folks at Glasgow Science Centre. There will also be a chance to hear all about sustainable science from a range of green technology experts at the Nature in November weekend on 30 November and 1 December. On Friday 29 November there are also curriculum-aligned schools activities including the Windworks workshop.
