Just when you thought he was going to keep a low profile in retirement…
Michael Phelps was in Scotland late last week with a host of other famous athletes and celebrities – including Oscar Pistorius, Shane Warne and Bill Murray who were competing in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championships at Kingsbarns near St. Andrews. After retiring from competitive swimming at the end of the London Olympics, Phelps continues to make headlines on the sports pages, but this time it wasn’t due to his athletic feats in the pool, but rather on the golf course. Phelps pulled off an incredible 153 yard putt on the par-4 sixth hole that sent the twittersphere into overdrive.
According to ESPN:
It took about 17 seconds for the ball to land in the hole, or slightly quicker than it takes Phelps to swim 50 yards.
