It’s finally here.
We can now lift the lid on the secret we’ve been dying to talk about but just couldn’t – until today. Our new advert launched this morning and will soon be hitting a TV screen near you. If you just can’t wait to catch it in the ad break of Coronation Street, ‘I’m a celebrity…’, Homeland or whatever the cool kids watch these days, get a sneak peek below.
For the making of the advert, we travelled the length and breadth of the country for the pick of Scotland’s most stunning scenes. Along the way, we also talked to some real Scots about the Brilliant Moments they’re looking forward to across Scotland in the next year. You can meet them, and see some of the amazing locations, in the advert.
Just one of the people we spoke to is Jenny Campbell, a wildlife ranger working on Eday in Orkney. She’s had some very special moments during her career thus far, including being the first to see some rare osprey chicks hatching and fledgling golden eagles take to the skies for the first time. In the ad, you can spot her out on the water bird watching around the Orcadian coastline as well as walking around the imposing Ring of Brodgar, a mystical Neolithic monument, all of which you can experience at the Orkney Nature Festival.
Sport is going to be a big fixture next year as Scotland welcomes the world in the Year of Homecoming 2014. Young Lewis Breslin may still be at school but he’s going to be making the most of 2014 when The Junior Ryder Cup comes to Blairgowrie next September. Just up the road, another clash of the titans will take place just days later when Team USA touch down in the Home of Golf. They’ll be aiming to take back The Ryder Cup from current victors Team Europe on the stunning PGA Centenary Course at Gleneagles.
Then of course, there’s the XX Commonwealth Games in July. Set to take Scotland’s largest city by storm, there is one person in particular who can’t wait for Glasgow 2014 to start – swimmer and Sports Science student Sonn Breslin. And of course, the UK’s and Scotland’s most medalled Olympian Sir Chris Hoy, who brings the advert to a close.
With a year-long, jam-packed programme of Homecoming events and celebrations, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to make your own Brilliant Moment.
