Here’s an interesting article from the Telegraph about the river Spey providing the setting for a new film called ‘Salmon Fishing in Yemen’.
The plot of this political satire centres on a Middle Eastern business man with a large Scottish estate, who seeks the help of a local fishing expert (Ewan McGregor) to introduce the sport back home in Yeman, a place out of the usual migratory route of salmon.
The British Government get wind of the plan and see it as an opportunity to promote its influence in the region. I can already see their plan ending in tragedy.
Definitely one to watch out for.
The article also comments on the stunning Speyside scenery and Jim White’s terrible fly casting.
