Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park
Explore Scotland’s first National Park and discover stunning scenery and a wealth of wildlife.

It’s not hard to see why Loch Lomond and the Trossachs inspired the creators of Disney•Pixar’s new animated film. It’s time for you to be inspired too when you explore Scotland’s first National Park.

You have followed Merida on her amazing journey in Disney•Pixar’s Brave, now it’s time to start your own adventure through some of the most spectacular scenery in Scotland. Firing the imagination of writers and artists for centuries, Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park embraces the glistening water of Loch Lomond, the rolling glens of the Trossachs, the mighty mountains of Breadalbane and the tranquil sea lochs of the Argyll Forest.

Clan chieftains in traditional dress in Breadalbane, Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National ParkCelebrate the wonderful diversity of Scotland’s first and most accessible National Park with events of every kind for you to enjoy, including Highland games, agricultural shows and walking, food and arts festivals.

You’ll fall in love with the beautiful landscape depicted in the film as you gaze across the National Park and take in some of the most spectacular sights it has to offer, including the towering peak of Ben Lomond, Scotland’s very own Arrochar Alps, the spectacular vista of Glen Ogle and, of course, the jewel in the National Park, the world-famous banks of Loch Lomond.

With woodland, mountain, loch and coastal habitats in the National Park, there’s plenty of wildlife to see here as well; from ospreys to seals, porpoises to wading birds, fallow and red deer to the most iconic Scottish bird, the golden eagle.

You won’t be disappointed with the rich history and folklore Loch Lomond and The Trossachs has to offer either.  The National Park is home to some of the most famous clans in Scotland including the MacFarlanes, McNabs and the Colquhouns.

Follow in the footsteps of the most famous of all, Rob Roy MacGregor, and visit his birthplace near Loch Katrine. Venture to the cave where he hid during his cattle rustling years and pay respect to his final resting place at Balquhidder Church. Such was his mark he left here, the Trossachs are still affectionately known as Rob Roy country.
