The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds Scotland (RSPB Scotland) is on the front line protecting and preserving Scotland’s rare birds and wildlife from extinction. The proud creatures you see in Disney•Pixar’s Brave have depleted in number over the centuries but thanks to the efforts of conservationists, Scotland’s birds are thriving for all to see - and there’s never been a better time to discover them.

Majestic ospreys, inquisitive red squirrels and even the rare capercaillie can be found in this ancient Caledonian woodland. The latter is very nearly extinct and a ‘Red List’ endangered species.

Then there is RSPB Loch Leven.  A short distance from Scotland’s historic capital Edinburgh, it’s the gateway to rural Perthshire. The shimmering loch is steeped in history and is home to a wide range of wildlife.  From the charming lapwing to thousands of wintering geese, this wildlife jewel provides an exceptional visitor experience and chance to learn about Scotland’s amazing wildlife and history close to the capital.

For a more unique adventure, venture to the Hebridean wilds of the Isle of Islay for spectacular wildlife, exciting history, breathtaking views and much more. RSPB Loch Gruinart and The Oa on Islay showcase the best of wild Scotland. Enjoy a real life celebration of the soaring birds of prey and stunning scenery that inspired Disney•Pixar’s Brave.  Discover wild Scotland with the RSPB on Islay.
