Scotland is famed for its fantastic food and drink, from the country’s national drink, whisky, to a rich range of fruit, vegetables, meat and seafood.

Freshly baked scones Scotland is a land of stunning landscapes which boast pure water, fertile soil, rain and sunshine. Food and drink is frequently referenced throughout Disney•Pixar’s Brave, from the meals and grand banquets in the castle to salmon fishing and produce including whisky and haggis.

The fertile Scottish landscape and skill of the producers supports the production of great raw ingredients like beef, oats, dairy products and salmon, as well as excellent finished products such as whisky. The Scottish climate is perfect for growing soft fruit and the rich clover grass of the Highlands helps make some of the creamiest cheese.

Such is the quality of Scottish produce that it is increasingly gaining worldwide reputation. More and more Scottish produce is being recognised with protected geographical indication (PGI) status like Scotch beef and lamb, Scottish salmon and Stornoway black pudding - an essential part of a warrior’s breakfast.

Delicious fresh Scottish produce including meat, seafood, vegetables and a dram of Scotland's national drink, whisky

Scotland Food & Drink works to grow the value of Scotland’s larder and build Scotland’s reputation as a Land of Food and Drink.
