THE ROUTE

Affectionately known as Scotland's answer to 'Route 66', the NC500 - as it's more commonly referred, is a 516 mile circular route, that starts and ends in the Capital of the Highlands - Inverness.

The route can be enjoyed in both a clockwise and anti-clockwise direction - it's up to you! A suggested itinerary might look something like this:

Day One – Inverness to Torridon

Meet your chauffeur and depart in the morning along one of the most scenic parts of Scotland. Your route includes Loch Ness and the famous Bealach na Bà - with its series of hairpin bends and situated over 2,000 feet above sea level - the views are absolutely stunning. Continue through Applecross and arrive at your hotel in Torridon.

Day Two – Northwards to Lochinver

Leaving Torridon, continue along the spectacular route, through beautiful villages, along the lochs, whilst surrounded by magnificent mountains.

Day Three – Continue North to Durness

Depart Lochinver via Achmelvich Beach, Stoer Point Lighthouse and the Old Man of Stoer en route towards Durness - one of the most remotest parts of the UK, with unforgettable coastal scenery.

Day Four – Heading East to Caithness

Your tour continues along Scotland’s far North-eastern corner and along the North coast towards Thurso. This part of the route is rich in archaeological remnants of a bygone age. The geological features of

the Caithness coastline feature soaring sea stacks, raucous colonies of sea birds, and vertically faced headlands jutting out into the wild waters of the Pentland Firth.

Day Five – Heading South to Tain

Departing Thurso, you'll first head towards the most northerly tip of the UK mainland at Dunnet Head and John O’Groats. You will then travel south towards Scotland's oldest Royal Borough of Tain, with stops en route at Keiss Harbour and Walligoe Steps.

Day Six – The Road to Inverness

A shorter drive today, which will give you ample time to explore the East Ross seaboard villages, and fabulous Pictish past. Stopping off for unsurpassed views from the Fyrish monument. Arrive back and spend the rest of the day in and around Inverness, whilst contemplating all you have experienced over the last few days.

Tours are completely customisable and easily extended to include onward travel to Edinburgh or Glasgow.
