Dundee & Angus is situated on the east coast of Scotland and enjoys great road and rail links to Scotland’s other cities as well between its towns and villages. During your stay, make the most of the excellent public transport on offer across the region.

By road

Main routes through Dundee & Angus include the M90 from the south east and the A9 from the south west and north. An alternative route well worth considering is the Angus Coastal Route which takes you along the shore from Dundee and up to picturesque seaside resorts such as Montrose.

Car parking is plentiful in Angus, and all Angus Council car parks are free of charge. There is also plenty of information about parking in and around Dundee on the Dundee city site.

By bus

Dundee & Angus have great coach links from cities and towns across Scotland.The main bus station in Angus is Arbroath Bus Station, and Dundee also has a main bus station located on Seagate which is a short walk from the train station and the city centre.

Local bus services run across Dundee, Angus and into the neighbouring regions of Fife and Perthshire. Information on services can be found on the Dundee Travel Information site as well as on leaflets and departure boards throughout the area.

By rail

The main train station is located in Dundee, with smaller stations in many Angus towns. A trip along the East Coast Line provides access to small seaside towns such as Carnoustie and Arbroath. For all train times to Scotland and fares across the UK network, visit National Rail Enquiries.

By air

There are regular domestic flights to Dundee Airport from Birmingham and London City which receives international flights, and also from Jersey and Belfast airports. Outside of Angus & Dundee, Edinburgh Airport is the nearest airport while Glasgow Airport is not much further. Both airports are under an hour and a half from the region by car and also have straight-forward connections by public transport.

By Ferry

Direct routes on Scottish ferries operate from Ireland to ports in the West Coast. From there you can take public transport or reach the region from Troon (100 miles/160km) or Cairnryan (150miles/240km). Ferries also run from the Netherlands to Newcastle in the north east of England (160miles/257km).
