Tantalise your taste buds at one of Fife's farmers' markets and farm shops where you can pick up an excellent range of local produce. The region is famed for its seafood and seasonal berries, as well as a selection of sweet treats and dairy produce, so come and sample a true taste of Fife and pick up ingredients to create your own culinary delights.

Farmers' markets and farm shops are a regular feature in towns and villages across Scotland and offer local producers the perfect public showcase for their delicious food and drink products.

In Fife, browse the stalls and chat to the producers at the monthly markets in Kirkcaldy, Dunfermline, St Andrews and Cupar. A new market has also recently been set up in Glenrothes and many markets also feature cookery demonstrations from chefs and experts from throughout Fife.

Another way to source Fife's excellent produce is by heading into the countryside to one of the region's pick-your-own farms. Cairnie Fruit Farm in Cupar is just one which offers a great chance for all the family to get involved in discovering Scotland's local produce. Look out for succulent strawberries, raspberries, brambles and cherries.

Further north in St Andrews, stop by the Balgove Larder Farm Shop which boasts superb meats, game and cheeses sourced from the farm. You can also enjoy this produce and delicious home baking in the on-site cafe.

Food and drink events

Celebrate Fife's wonderful natural larder at one of the region's great foodie events held each year. The Crail Food Festival, held in the East Neuk village each June and the St Andrews Food and Drink Festival in November feature stalls, cookery tips and demonstrations and tastings. They are a great way to sample the taste of Fife.
