Bealach is the only surviving house in Salachan Glen, it was originally a shepherd’s croft that has been extended over the years to become first a farm house and then into the large comfortable family home it is now. There are few places in this world where you can escape from the hustle of daily living but still enjoy the comforts of modern life – Bealach House is one such place.
We have 3 letting rooms' 2 doubles with kingsize beds and 1 twin room, all with ensuite facilities and power showers, altought the bedrooms are small they have everything you would require and there is a large guests lounge and conservatory for guest use.
Most of our guests are very pleasantly surprised at the quality and choice of the food we offer.The philosophy is “ if it can be made on the premises it will be “ including the cake and biscuits served with your afternoon tea on arrival, the breads and preserves even down to the sweets with your coffee after dinner.
Where possible ingredients are locally sourced and quite frequently the salads, fruits and vegetables are grown here.Dinner consists of 3 courses with a choice at every stage always including a vegetarian option. See sample menus. Special diets can be catered for but this must be mentioned when booking.
The premises are not licensed so please feel free to Bring Your Own.
Breakfast can be as light or as hearty as you require, a full Scottish breakfast is always available but there is also a daily changing special which may include, mushroom omelette , smoked haddock kedgeree or oatmeal griddle cake topped with bacon and poached eggs.
From 2012 we will no longer be offering dinner on Monday evenings
