    Road Directions

Islay is linked to mainland Scotland by a regular ferry service operated from Kennacraig by Caledonian Macbrayne.

The crossings run up to four times daily and take around 2 hours. At peak times, ferries can be busy and so it is recommended that crossings are booked at the same time as the accommodation.

Allow up to 3 hours travel time from Glasgow as the 100 mile drive along the A82/A83 can be busy and slow at times.

The ferry will arrive at either Port Ellen or Port Askaig depending on crossing. Follow signs to Bridgend and then Bruichladdich. The private road to the cottage is about 1/4 of a mile after Bruichladdich on the right at the sign 'Coultorsay' (pron. Coul-torsa). Allow about 30 minutes to drive from either ferry terminal.

    Public Transport Directions
