A small and cosy modern detached Cottage in a very rural setting. Close to Marwick Head, Loons and Birsay RSPB reserve. It is an ideal location for fishing and touring.
Mid Comloquoy Cottage is well placed for a holiday of many interests. Near by and about 15 minutes walk from the Cottage stands Kitcheners Memorial, which is situated on Marwick Head, with its huge colonies of breeding seabirds. A walk down from Marwick Head will take you to Marwick Bay. Also, Marwick Bay can also be accessed by road; this is but a short drive away, or a delightful afternoon walk.
There is also The Loons Wetlands where there is a RSPB hide at the roadside; this is another excellent bird reserve. Cliffs, Sea, Sky and Moorland are a delight for walkers and can make for a very peaceful or energetic holiday.
To either side of us there are Archaeological sites of great interest to everyone. A short drive away, of about 10 minutes, is Skara Brae with Skaill House beside it. There is a lovely beach at the Bay of Skaill, while on the other side of us; at Birsay you get the Atlantic Breakers. Also at Birsay, is the Broch, which you can get to on foot when the tides are out; tidal information is always at hand. Likewise, all of these aspects are a delight to both the amateur and professional Photographers. There is fishing in abundance, which is free and locals and fishermen alike will point you in the right direction for the major fishing Lochs.
