Osprey Hideaways

Self Catering

Osprey Hideaways, Greathill House, By North Third, Stirling, Stirlingshire, FK7 9QS

Osprey Hideaways are situated in absolutely stunning upland rural scenery, overlooking our own 140 acre private loch and incredible cliffs - yet they are only 4.5 miles from the centre of Stirling!

They are the ideal place to escape from the madness of everyday life and offer genuine luxury accommodation for couples or families. Here you can simply chill out and watch the ospreys that visit nearly every day in the summer. Or you can make your holiday as active as you want. Loch Lomond National Park is just up the road and the "bright lights" of Edinburgh and Glasgow are only a short drive away.

Stirling is open all year round, is full of things to do, places to eat and has probably the best castle in Scotland. North Third Cottages are the perfect place for the perfect holiday.

Newly established in 2012, Osprey Hideaways is a family business which has been set up to provide the Stirling area with luxury self catering accommodation in a truly stunning rural, yet central, location.

We have 5 luxury cottages all named after birds that we regularly see by just looking out of the window! - Osprey, Peregrine, Buzzard, Kestrel and Barn Owl . The cottages are built to form a vehicle free courtyard that's perfectly in keeping with the area.  There's a large separate parking area. All cottages are centrally heated and beautifully furnished - cosy lounges, king sized beds, power showers and/baths, large flat screen TV, blu-ray players, free DVDs/blu-rays ,wi-fi and Iphone chargers - everything you need for a truly relaxing holiday. The kitchens have washing machine/tumble driers, electric ovens, gas hobs, large fridge and separate freezer, dishwashers and microwaves. All electricity and heating is included.

All the linen and duvets are top quality (with double duvets for any twin beds), the towels are beautifully soft and fluffy and we even provide slippers and cosy towelling bathrobes so that you can just curl up on the sofa and relax.

And then there are the incredible views across our loch to the 300 foot high cliffs that frame the far shoreline and provide what is recognised as one of the best cliff top walks in Central Scotland. If fishing is your thing, we provide free fly fishing on our private loch for wild brown trout throughout the season.

Barn Owl and Buzzard are on one level and have a large master bedroom with king sized bed and an en-suite shower room, a twin room and a generous family bathroom with bath and separate, large shower cubicle. Both have a large dining/lounge/ kitchen room, beautiful views of the countryside and outside seating areas.

Osprey is on one level and has a large master bedroom with king sized bed and a separate, generous bathroom with bath and large shower cubicle. It has a large dining/lounge/ kitchen room. There is an outside seating area where you can sit in the evening and watch the sun light up the cliffs. This is the perfect cottage for a romantic retreat and the views over the loch are simply stunning.

Peregrine is on two levels and has a large master bedroom with king sized bed, a twin room, a generous family bathroom with bath/shower and a good sized dining/lounge/ kitchen room. This cottage is converted from the original fisherman's bothy and is full of character. The views over the loch are simply stunning.

Kestrel is on two levels and has a large master bedroom, separate bathroom with a large shower cubicle and a good sized dining/lounge/ kitchen room. This cottage was also once part of the original fisherman's bothy and is also full of character. Again the views over the loch are simply stunning.

As we live on site, and have done so for over 25 years, we know the area very well and can advise on where to go and what to do, even if you are spending the day in Edinburgh, Glasgow or further afield. We're here to help you as much or ( just as importantly!) as little as you want. We are sure that once you have stayed you'll fall in love with the area as much as we have and will want to return again and again.
