    The Isle Of South Uist, part of the Western Isles and located just south of Benbecula, is nothing short of breathtaking presenting stunning scenery, natural and historic landscape, unrivalled outdoor access and diverse wildlife.

    This newly renovated Thatch Cottage is situated in a lovely area of the north end of South Uist and offers a quiet and peaceful location and is ideal for a very relaxing holiday.
    The cottage consists of a small cosy sitting room/kitchen, a shower room and one double bedroom. The kitchen houses a washing machine, fridge, electric hob and oven. The sitting room houses a flatscreen Freeview TV, CD player, iPod docking station and a space saver table. The bathroom has an electric shower.
    The location is ideal for touring all 5 Islands Berneray, North Uist, Benbecula, South Uist & Eriskay and also for day trips to the neighbouring islands of Lewis, Harris and Barra.. Our islands have lots to offer the visitor with miles of unspoilt beaches, an abundance of wildlife, including many rare breeding birds, otters and seals and a rich variety of wild flowers and plants.
    Throughout the islands there are many historical and archaeological sites, which give testimony to the long history of The Hebrides.
    Trout fishing can be arranged on many of the lochs, some almost within casting distance of the house.
    Play golf at 'The Lost Course of Askernish' in South Uist, where original course laid out by the renowned Victorian golf course architect 'Old' Tom Morris has been restored.
    There is also a nine-hole course on Benbecula.
    Sea-angling, kayaking, wind surfing, and boat trips to off-shore islands are available at various locations in the islands.
    There are many moorland walks for all abilities, where you can enjoy perfect peace and fresh air.
    The islands are popular with cyclists and cycle hire can be arranged with cycle shop close to the house.
    The natural light gives excellent conditions for photographers and artists.
    Close by in the township of Iochdair we have a Jewellers shop & cafe. Hebridean Jewellery is manufacturers of silver and gold jewellery from the Pictish and Celtic periods through to the new millennium range.

    Getting there by ferry:- Ferry Services are from Oban to Lochboisdale, Barra to Eriskay, Uig (Skye) to Lochmaddy.
    and also Leverburgh to Beneray. All ferries are operated by Caledonian MacBrayne
