The Red Lion

The Square, The Square, Earlston, Berwickshire, TD4 6DB

Welcome to The Red Lion. Dating back to the early 1700's, the Red Lion, a former coaching Inn, sits in the centre of Earlston, in the heart of the Scottish Borders. Located 30 miles south of Edinburgh , Earlston is a convenient base for expoloring th

Earlston sits on the banks of the River Leader which joins the highly renowned River Tweed 2 miles south of the village. Home to Thomas the Rhymer, a Scottish Laird and prophet in the 13th Century, Earlston is surrounded by rolling countryside and served by a network of footpaths.
The Red Lion is an ideal base from which to start any of the circular routes, some of which give access to the nearby town of Melrose or join up with the Southern Upland Way.

The Red Lion team strive to deliver a warm welcome, a delicious home cooked meal, a pint of local cask ale from the Scottish Borders Brewery, or a refreshing wine by the open fire in the bar, in the slightly more formal surroundings of the lounge bar, or if the weather is fine, in the large south facing seating area at the front of the hotel.

Bedrooms are all ensuite with free wifi, combined DVD/TV players and tea/coffee facilities.
