Enjoy a free tour of this progressive brewery set in the glorious Highland surroundings of Ross-shire.
Established in 1998 by Managing Director David Gladwin, the Black Isle Brewery has long been renowned for the superior quality of its malting barley. Today it produces a world-class range of beer using organic barley and hops. Free tours of the facilities by the brewery’s enthusiastic and dedicated staff along with complimentary tastings are available. Witness the entire in-house process which takes the raw ingredients of barely, hops and yeast and transforms them into its superb range of beers. See the mashtun in operation where the water from the kettle is used to extract sugars from the barely and the formation and conditioning tanks where the liquor is stored from 10 days before being bottled or stored in casks. The brewery’s standard range of six beers are displayed in the shop and include two excellent organic bitters and four bottle-conditioned beers which have been naturally fermented a second time. Special edition festive and seasonal beers are occasionally available.
