    The Burrell Collection is one of the greatest art collections ever amassed by one person and consists of more than 8,000 objects.

    The Burrell Collection is housed in an award-winning building in the heart of Pollok Country Park. The collection is named after its donor, the shipping magnate Sir William Burrell.

    The displays range from work by major artists including Rodin, Degas and C├ęzanne to important examples of late medieval art, Chinese and Islamic art, ancient civilizations and more. Regular temporary exhibitions are hosted at the Burrell which also runs an extensive programme of events and activities for children.

    Public Transport Directions

    From the nearest information centre:- First bus services 45, 47, 48 and 57 run from Glasgow city centre, and stop on Pollokshaws Road, opposite the main entrance to Pollok Country Park.

    It takes about ten to fifteen minutes to walk to the Burrell Collection from the entrance to the park, and there are a number of signposts along the way.

    A courtesy bus runs half-hourly from a bus stop just inside the entrance to the park and takes you to both the Burrell Collection and Pollok House, also located in Pollok Country Park. The bus is wheelchair accessible.

    Getting there by railway:- Take a train from Glasgow Central station to Pollokshaws West train station
