Bellshill is a town in North Lanarkshire that is 10 miles south east of Glasgow and is known for its music, especially since the 1980s.
Bands like Teenage Fanclub, BMX Bandits and Soup Dragons put Bellshill on the musical map. The indie scene was christened the Bellshill Beat and the town continues to sprout musicians and bands. The area has also produced some famous football legends. Managerial giants Matt Busby, Bill Shankly and Jock Stein were all born around here.
