    Coatbridge is a town in North Lanarkshire and lies 9 miles east of Glasgow.

    During the 19th century, Coatbridge became a major centre for mining and the production of iron and steel. The town's Summerlee Heritage Park provides a fascinating insight into life during the heady days of coal, steam and iron. Other attractions include the Time Capsule leisure centre with its water park facilities and ice skating, and Drumpellier Country Park with its woodland walks and loch-side setting.
