Scotland boasts a packed calendar of exciting rugby events throughout the year at all levels of the game from full internationals to club cup finals.

RBS Six Nations

Top class rugby is guaranteed in the premier international competition, the RBS Six Nations, held each February and March. Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland, France and Italy battle it out to land the coveted Championship Trophy and avoid the dreaded wooden spoon.

Melrose 7s

Arguably the most famous sevens rugby tournament in the world, the Melrose 7s, is staged every April at the ground where the game originated. Teams from across the Scottish Borders compete with overseas invitees from as far afield as Japan and Australasia.

Scottish Borders ‘Sports’

The Scottish Borders ‘Sports’ are an exciting series of sevens tournaments held across the traditional heartland of Scottish rugby during April when the local teams compete for the hard-fought ‘Kings of the Borders‘ title.

HSBC World Sevens Series

The HSBC Sevens Festival is an amazing feast of rugby sevens with leading nations like Australia, Fiji, New Zealand and South Africa all in action over two days in May in Glasgow.

National Cup Finals ‘Super Saturday’

This is the pinnacle of the club rugby in Scotland when the cup finals of the three major competitions - the Premier Cup, National Shield and Regional Bowl – all take place on the one day at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium.

Autumn International Test series

The Autumn International Test series is an unmissable opportunity each autumn for fans to cheer on Scotland at Murrayfield against rugby giants from the Southern Hemisphere including New Zealand, South Africa and Australia.

Heineken Cup

Scotland’s two professional teams – Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh Rugby – compete in a round-robin competition, the Heineken Cup, with the elite of Europe’s professional game from November to January.

RaboDirect PRO12 League

The RaboDirect PRO12 League is an exciting weekly feast of rugby from one of Europe’s premier professional leagues. Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh Rugby go up against top-rate Irish, Welsh and Italian regional clubs from September through to May.
