Events & Festivals in November

Scotland proudly celebrates its patron saint each November, with many events and festivals taking place throughout the month which culminate in our national day, St Andrew’s Day, on 30 November.

It is a time when we showcase the best of what it means to be Scottish. St Andrew’s Day itself is a holiday, so look out for a programme of events across the country covering everything from Scots literature to music and more. Another thing you will not want to miss is the wonderful atmosphere of a ceilidh, which is the perfect place to learn a traditional Scottish style of dance.

The St Andrews Food and Drink Festival runs across Fife throughout November, with local businesses offering special food and drink promotions and menus. The festival programme includes cookery demonstrations, whisky workshops and a chance to buy fresh local produce direct from the producers.

Over on Scotland’s west coast, enjoy six-days of world-class fencing at the Commonwealth Fencing Championships in Largs, Ayrshire. The top international fencing talent will compete for medal glory and there will also be plenty opportunities to try fencing yourself with workshops and lots of family-friendly events. It promises to be a great day out for all the family.
