Visit Ayrshire & Arran’s only brewery and visitor centre and learn about the range of regional craft ales and beers. Absorb the sights and smells of the traditional beer-making process, and taste samples of some of the finest beers available today. Tours are available where visitors can learn how beers and ales are created and also meet the brewers.

Beers and ales

Take the ferry across to Arran and enjoy a tour of the island's only brewery at Brodick. Learn how the popular premium ales such as Arran Blonde, Arran Dark and Arran Brewery Dug are created, explore the fascinating visitor centre and sample the ales at the end of the tour. When visiting pubs in the region, look out for tasty creations by the Ayr Brewing Company, a micro-brewery based in Ayr.

If you love your craft beers, don't miss the annual Ayrshire Real Ale Festival in October. Now in its 14th year, this popular event showcases the best beers and ales from across Scotland and beyond and it is hoped that some Viking-themed beers will be available to mark the 750th anniversary of the Battle of Largs.

A tour of the Isle of Arran Distillery at Lochranza is the best way to learn how Scotland's national drink is produced on the island. Find out more about distilleries and whisky attractions in Ayrshire & Arran.
