Farmers’ markets have become a regular feature of towns and cities across Scotland since the first market took place in Perth in the 1990s.
Once or twice a month throughout the country, farmers and producers come together to sell the the very best in fresh locally grown produce directly to the public.
Stalls burst with everything from seasonal fruit and vegetables, to meat, poultry and game. There is also seafood, such as smoked mackerel or salmon, an array of cheese and dairy products, and even artisan chocolates for the sweet-toothed customer.
Homemade jams, pickles and breads, locally brewed craft beer and traditional Scottish products including haggis, black pudding and shortbre
