Our bedrooms are comfortable and centrally heated with 22" flat-screen digital colour TV and tea/coffee making facilities enabling you to unwind at the end of the day. All our rooms are now en-suite with shower. A room with a bath is also available.
Our farmhouse, a traditional stone-built Galloway farmhouse is situated in tranquil surroundings which guarantee a peaceful night's sleep away from the hustle and bustle of busy roads. Airds has been sympathetically developed into a 4 star guesthouse and attached 3 star self-catering cottage and is an ideal base for long or short breaks in the scenic beauty of Galloway. Whatever you choose to do on your break we will strive to ensure that your stay with us is a pleasant experience and we will always try and accommodate any reasonable requests. Airds boasts many excellent viewpoints one of which is the 6 acres of rough grassland and broadleaf woodland known as Airds Glen, this is freely accessible to guests. Children and adults alike will enjoy walking through and relaxing in the beautiful glen. Red kites and buzzards and many species of birds are regularly seen in the over the skies of Airds. In recent months, kites have been visiting Airds on a daily basis. Our regular visiting greater spotted woodpecker can be seen at the bird table while you are enjoying a hearty breakfast.
On arrival to the bed and breakfast you can relax in our comfortable conservatory and let your stresses and cares disappear. A holiday or short break at Airds at any time of year is a tonic to the system. Children of all ages will love meeting our friendly dogs, our amusing Indian runner ducks and special breed hens.
On warm summer evenings, guests may wish to relax on our sheltered south-facing terrace and enjoy the fine view, or stroll in our 6-acre glen & woodland. For those preferring a little exercise, a 15-minute stroll will take you to the Thistle, our local hostelry, where you may sample a malt whisky from Jim's extensive range. As closing time is uncertain, you are advised to ensure you have a house key in your possession!
In the mornings breakfast is served between 8.00 & 9.00am. (Earlier or later by arrangement) We offer traditional full cooked breakfast with alternatives for those who prefer a different menu. Fruit juices, cereals and fruit are also available.
