    Braeside’s Accommodation
    Braeside is  just off the centre of the Trossachs village of Aberfoyle. Set on 2 floors at the end of a small terrace, the back looks over the village to the hills, woods and meadows on the banks of the river Forth.
    Upstairs has a bathroom, with separate bath and shower. There are three bedrooms sleeping 5 comfortably in a double room with kingsize bed, a twin bedded room and a single room.
    Downstairs has a roomy lounge, dining kitchen and separate wc. The kitchen is well equipped with fridge/freezer, electric cooker, microwave and dishwasher. There is also a washing machine. 
    There is parking at the front door for one car and ample unrestricted, immediate street parking.

    To the rear is a small courtyard garden where you can sit and enjoy your evening glass of wine.

    Yet only a short distance to the shops and amenities of the village, Braeside is an excellent base to enjoy your holiday in the beautiful Trossachs area.

    Local Attractions and Activities
    The Trossachs boasts a countryside of beautiful Lochs and Mountains. There are several interesting walking trails and circular motoring routes with a variey of excellent restaurants and cafes along the way.
    There is sailing on many of the lochs with passenger steamers on local Loch Katrine and Loch Lomond. There is fishing available on nearby Lake of Menteith, Loch Ard, Loch Venacher and Loch Lomond. Canoeing is also available on some waterways.
    Pony trekking is available locally in the Mentieth Hills and instruction for beginners is provided.
    Forest Hills is a leisure centre in nearby Loch Ard and has an indoor swimming pool and  gym open to non residents.
    The Nick Nairn cookery school is only a few miles from Aberfoyle near the Lake of Menteith - full and half day classes can be booked in advance with lunch often included.
    The village is the main centre for the area and has bank, post office, garage, police and fire station, health centre, primary school, several churches and tourist information centre. The shops include 2 butchers, one with a deli, and a comprehensive co-operative store for all food essentials. There is an excellent ice cream shop with confectionary and several gift shops including a large garden centre. Tourist outlets specialising in Scottish knitwear include the Scottish Wool Centre with live rare breed sheep  as well as a raptor display.
    There are a variey of restaurants  cafes and pubs in and around Aberfoyle - the Lake Hotel at Port of Mentieth is particularly notable for the  fine setting of the dining room, on the lake shore with mountain backdrop.
    National Park Centre
    The David Marshall Lodge is the main visitor centre for the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park located just a mile out of Aberfoyle on the Dukes Pass road. The Centre is the hub for many outdoor activities including the largest "Go Ape" facility in Britain. Guided walks covering many interests are available by arrangement and the many leaflets on local walks and trails at low and high levels among the hills and mountains can be self guided.
    A panoramic restaurant helps to make the David Marshal Lodge a pleasant place to spend a few hours - particularly of note to bird watchers are the live cameras focused on local nesting birds including ospreys, buzzards and red kites. The shop is a source of books, gift ware etc.
