Ivy Cottage

Cluniebank Road, Braemar, Braemar, Aberdeenshire, AB35 5ZP

Set in the heart of Braemar, with village views to the front and a peaceful and secluded garden with an abundance of wildlife to the back. A warm welcome awaits.

The Guest House was built around the end of the 19th century. We strive to offer you a friendly welcome and a relaxing stay in traditional, and comfortable surroundings. We are open all year. We offer a hearty Scottish breakfast in our lovely lounge/dining room with log burner overlooking the garden - enjoy your breakfast watching the birds and red squirrels tucking into theirs! We also offer evening meals and packed lunches by prior arrangement. The Guest House is not licensed to sell alcohol, but you are welcome to bring your own bottle. We will provide you with glasses and a corkscrew without charge.

We offer secure garage storage for motorbikes, bicycles and skis, a drying room for your wet outdoor gear (it sometimes rains in the Highlands!) and a laundry service. Free WiFi access is available.

Braemar is located in the Cairngorms National Park. Famed for its highland Gathering in September, attended by the Royal Family and several thousand others, it is an ideal location for active pursuits including walking, cycling, skiing, fishing and golf, or for more leisurely sightseeing such as castles, whisky distilleries, shops and galleries, and just taking in the awesome scenery!

    Road Directions

The main road to Braemar from the North (Aberdeen/Inverness) and South (Glasgow/Edinburgh) is the A93.  Follow the sign off the A93 to the village centre.  You will pass the Fife Arms on the right and the Mews (home of the Tourist Information office) on your left.  Take the first road on the left after the Mews.  This is an unnamed one-way street.  Ivy Cottage is on the right, just after the church.  Please don’t follow your Sat-Nav to Cluniebank Road as this will bring you to a grass lane leading to a gate at the end of the back garden…
