Signal Rock Cottage

B&B

Torren, The Old Clachaig Road, Glencoe, Argyll, PH49 4HX

Welcome to Signal Rock Cottage. A modern cottage set in the heart of historic Glencoe surrounded by mountain views in an ancient woodland with access to the peaceful Torren Lochan.

Tucked in amongst the ancient trees in this secluded part of the most famous of the Scottish Glens and with wonderful mountain views, Signal Rock Cottage was built to the very highest “Green” standards and finished in January 2008.

The Cottage has 1 double & 1 twin bedroom for rent, each with their own en-suite shower-rooms There is a sitting/dining area dedicated to our guests with patio doors leading out to a small paved area. There is also a kitchen with all facilities which is used to prepare breakfast but otherwise solely for the use of our visitors.

With cosy under floor heating fired by an eco-friendly woodchip boiler and en-suite “wet room” showers, the well being of our guests has been top of our list when designing the house. Goose down pillows and duvets and 100% Egyptian cotton sheeting on all beds as well as large fluffy bath sheets add to your comfort.

Upstairs in the cottage we have a cosy self-catering Studio Flat for 2 people.

Private parking for 2 cars is available outside the cottage.

The drying room and washing facilities in the Service Building at the adjacent Glencoe Cottages are available to our guests.

Fish FOC for trout up to 2 lbs in our own stunning Torren Lochan only 2 minutes walk from the Cottage.

The Harry Potter films used the Torren Lochan as the backdrop to Hagrids Hut and Warner Bros took all our Self-catering cottages and used them as Editing offices. They also rented our own house Torren as their Production Office. Warner Bros spent 5 months in the Glen and employed 500 people during the filming.

Wander through the woods to the iconic Signal Rock from which the Macdonald Clan warned the inhabitants of the Glen of danger. Legend also has it that the Rock was used by the Druids for worship - hence its Gaelic name “Rock of the Sun”.

Stroll up to the local Pub The Clachaig Inn, which serves a large selection of Real Ale and Good Food they also have regular live music.

Come and enjoy the the deer outside your window as well as the Birds, Butterflies the other wildlife which thrive in this very special untouched quiet corner of Glencoe which we have, as a family, owed and protected for 5 generations.
