Falconer Museum

Museums

22 Tolbooth Street, Forres, Moray, IV36 1PH

The Falconer Museum holds the archives and fossils of Hugh Falconer, as well as narrating the local & social history of Moray. We also have a range of temporary exhibitions which change regularly, as well as family activities in the holidays.

The Falconer Museum was founded in 1871 in memory of Hugh Falconer, a colleague of Charles Darwin. The Museum houses a wealth of Moray’s heritage and features displays on local history, social history, fossils, geology and archaeology. We also run family activities during school holidays - see press for details.
