Victoria Park, Glasgow, G14 1BN

Travel back in time to an ancient forest even older than the dinosaurs, at the Fossil Grove, Glasgow!

The Fossil Grove at Victoria Park, Glasgow, is home to some of the most spectacular fossilised trees in the UK. The fossils are the remains of ancient trees, twice as old as the dinosaurs, which once grew in Scotland at a time when it had a hot, tropical climate.  The trees are the remnants of vast forests which eventually became the coal that powered Glasgow's industry. Visit the Fossil Grove, and travel back in time 359 million years ago to see for yourself a long forgotten landscape preserved in the city of Glasgow.
