This Victorian woodland garden features champion trees, immaculate sweeping lawns, pathways that meander through ancient shrubberies and a majestic monkey puzzle avenue. Logan House Garden bursts into colour in spring then becomes host to the ‘forty

Originally part of Logan Botanic Garden, Logan House Garden has had a had an interesting history, suffering intermittent periods of neglect over the past fifty years and severe storm damage a decade ago. Opened to the public in 2002 Logan House has benefited from a programme of replanting and renovation and the results have been very successful. Logan House Garden is a wonderful woodland walk, bright and colourful in Spring and early Summer, giving way to the cooling hues of the huge variety of trees in Summer. Rhododendrons take centre stage in March, April and May with wonderful specimens such as R.macabeanum, R.sinogrande, R.grande, R.arboreum, R.decorum, huge examples of R.russellianum and many varied hybrids of beautiful colours. Following closely are the azaleas, many in infancy, but the fragrance of the older R.luteum as it fills the air is unmistakable. Logan House Garden features seven United Kingdom and fourteen Scottish champions trees, one of which is a big leaf rhododendron, R. Sinogrande. Embothriums, Crinodendrons, Eucryphias together with other exotic plants are able to take advantage of the Gulf Stream and flourish, complimenting the displays of neighbouring Logan Botanic Garden. Garden fetes are a regular feature during the summer months.
