    Summer exhibition

    This year's summer exhibition (June 15-October 28) celebrates Scotland's love affair with the cinema. Going to the Pictures explores the story of cinema going in Scotland over the past 120 years from the silent movie age to the present day. It features fascinating film footage, original film posters and popular film magazines - all about films made in or about Scotland. 



    Permanent exhibition - The John Murray Archive

    The writers and thinkers of John Murray's publishing firm shaped the modern world through their works of literature, science, exploration and politics. Drawing on material from the John Murray Archive, this permanent exhibition uses state-of-the-art exhibition technology to bring to life the work and lives of a changing selection of the publishers most influential figures. Those featured include Lord Byron, Charles Darwin and David Livingstone.



    All exhibitions open Monday - Friday 10 am - 8pm; Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday 2pm - 5pm. Admission free. Disabled access via wheelchair lift.
