An old estate village with country charm to the east of Duns, Allanton is a great base for exploring the Scottish Borders’ countryside.
Once part of the Blackadder Estate, this small village is south of Eyemouth, between Duns and Berwick-upon-Tweed.
The village is just south of where the Whiteadder and Blackadder waters meet, two tributaries for the River Tweed. There are a number of local walks in the area, and a range of accommodation options. The village is an ideal base for exploring the coast and countryside of the Scottish Borders.
Two village cottages mark where the drive of Blackadder House began. The house was a Robert Adam design, but now only ruins remain.
