    Hamilton is a historic town at the head of the Clyde Valley in the heart of Lanarkshire.

    The town was once the fiefdom of the Dukes of Hamilton. Low Parks Museum is the oldest surviving building in Hamilton and is a five-star visitor attraction. It brings to life the history of the Hamilton family and is home to the Cameronians regimental museum. Cadzow Castle is in the grounds of Chatelherault Country Park near the Chatelherault hunting lodge. Hamilton Park Racecourse is one of the country’s premier horse-racing venues, while Hamilton Palace Sports Ground has football and tennis facilities.
