Luing

Islands

Luing lies 15 miles south of Oban and a short ferry trip across Cuan Sound from the neighbouring Seil Island.

A former slate island which produced much of Scotland's slate until the 1960s, Luing boasts picturesque villages and stunning views to Belnahua, Scarba and the Garvellachs. It is an ideal location for a cycling or walking holiday, or for simple relaxation.

The island is also home to a diverse variety of wildlife, including otters, hares, seals and dolphins.
