Morebattle, in the Scottish Borders, was once a loch-side village and now lies on St Cuthbert’s Way.
Between Kelso and Jedburgh, the village of Morebattle lies in the foothills of the Cheviots.
The name Morebattle originates from when there was a loch between the village and Linton, which was drained in the 19th century to make way for agricultural improvements.
The long-distance footpath, St. Cuthbert's Way, runs through the village on its way from Melrose to Lindisfarne. It offers a welcome rest where walkers can stock up on refreshments or spend a night.
