River Earn

Rivers and Canals

The River Earn in Perthshire flows out of the east end of Loch Earn and joins the River Tay at Bridge of Earn, shortly before the Tay estuary.

Throughout the course of the River Earn, there are many spots offering easy access to the banks. The shallow pools and grassy banks in the centre of Comrie are always popular and, in Crieff, the route along the north bank is known as Lady Mary's Walk - one of the most attractive and well known in all Perthshire.

An easy going path stays close to the river, with a wonderful avenue of beech trees lining the early part of the route. The area around the River Earn is particularly stunning in the late autumn.

South of Crieff, close to the Stuart Crystal centre, a riverside route can be followed for around 5 miles, all the way to the conservation village of Muthill.

Fishing is available on many sections of the river.
