Glenshee Ski Centre
Scotland's most extensive ski centre is Glenshee, which has become the top name in skiing in the UK, with a wide range of runs and high-spec equipment ready to hire.
Explore over 2,000 acres at Glenshee Ski Centre where the pistes span three valleys and four mountains totalling 40km of ski and snowboarding runs. Beginners are also catered for with a good range of easily accessible nursery slopes.
Glenshee’s varied terrain has much to offer the adventurous skier, including two infamous black runs and the renowned Glas Maol run - a 2 km long descent of fantastic skiing.
If you’re after something a little more accessible, head to Lecht 2090 in the eastern Cairngorms. The Lecht is a more compact centre which is ideal for beginners and families. The ski and snowboard school is located beside the nursery tows and friendly and experienced instructors will make sure you enjoy and learn from your experience.
Activity at The Lecht is not just a winter experience. In the summer months many of the tows will take you to the summit for spectacular views over the Cairngorms. Look out also for the 'Deval Karts', tubing and summer skiing and boarding.
Other snowsport centres
Further north in Huntly, the Nordic and Outdoor Centre is Britain's only purpose-built all-weather facility for cross-country skiing. Whether there is fresh snow or not there will always be the opportunity to enjoy a range of activities on the dry ski slopes.
You can even discover great adventure activities in the city of Aberdeen. The Aberdeen Snowsports Centre is an all-inclusive, action-packed skiing and boarding hub, with tubing and several other activities to take part in on its dry ski-slopes.
