Dundee & Angus is home to a fantastic variety of music, film, dance and theatre venues throughout the region. The city of Dundee has been home to a number of great artists from Snow Patrol, who formed while at the University of Dundee, to KT Tunstall, a former pupil of the High School of Dundee.

The Caird Hall in the city centre of Dundee celebrates its 90th anniversary in 2013 and has hosted performances from a number of major artists and groups including the Scottish Proms.

The University of Dundee runs lunchtime concerts on a Friday, with local musicians, staff and students performing for free.

Take in a show at the Dundee Rep, home to Scotland's only full-time acting company, or see the latest film releases at Dundee Contemporary Arts. You can also catch performances at Arbroath's two venues, the Abbey Theatre and the Webster Theatre.

Don’t miss the UK’s longest continuous running mountain film festival in November. Dundee Mountain Film Festival boasts a packed programme of film and speakers on the thrilling subject of mountains and extreme sports, and the Discovery Film Festival offers a selection of the very best international cinema for young audiences.

There are a number of big festivals and smaller events taking place in the city of Dundee and in the towns and villages of Angus.

See great local rock bands perform at Bon Fest in May, take part in a ceilidh at the Angus Accordion & Fiddle Festival in July, and head to Arbroath in August for the renowned Bell Rock Blues Festival.
