If you’ve ever wondered what life was like in Scotland during the Iron Age, visit the Scottish Crannog Centre on the banks of Loch Tay at Kenmore. The history of the time is brought to life through a fascinating series of interactive exhibitions and special events.

Another slice of history for the whole family to enjoy can be found at the Meigle Sculptured Stone Museum, just east of Blairgowrie. The impressive collection of stone carvings dates back to Pictish times and is said to be one of the most important collections of its kind in western Europe.

Perthshire is also home to several castles and one of its most distinctive is Blair Castle in Blair Atholl. Enjoy a tour of the castle where the kids will love the special detective's challenge before exploring the beautiful gardens and grounds which include a woodland adventure playground.
