Activities in May

May is a great month to get out and discover Scotland’s wonderful outdoors. If you enjoy exploring the landscape on two wheels, don’t miss out on the Tweedlove Bike Festival, a two week programme of bike rides, races, social and cultural events taking place in the cycle-friendly Tweed Valley in the Scottish Borders.

There are hundreds of miles of trails, tracks and roads to discover and during the event over 1,000 road and mountain bike fans from across the UK and Europe will attend the events.

2014 will be an exciting year for the festival, as the first-ever UK round of the Enduro World Series, a prestigious mountain biking event, will take place during the weekend of 31 May – 1 June.

Cycling events range from exciting downhill mountain biking on some of the best tracks in the country to road cycles through pretty countryside roads and quaint villages. There are special workshops to help you improve your mountain biking skills. You’ll find great family events, from family cycles to fun days which are great fun for all ages. If you are handy with a camera, there are photography and film competitions to see who can get the best shots of the cycling action. Whatever your cycling experience, you are bound to find an event which suits you during this great festival.
